Jhenivan Aguila - Visual Artist, Illustrator and Cultural Producer
Graduated in Visual Arts, I have worked throughout my career in various artistic fields, maintaining as my main interest the production of visionary works.
Over the last ten years, I have specialized in the oil on canvas technique, focusing my research on the connection between altered states of consciousness, such as those induced by the consumption of ayahuasca, positively influencing my creative process.
Over the past four years, I have been part of the team of artists at Galeria Nega, which has given me the opportunity to hold group and solo exhibitions. I have also had the honor of illustrating two books entitled "Dona Pipa" and "Miúda é o Grande Tambor", which has further enriched my artistic and creative experience.
Today I seek to create paintings that can offer a new lens, transcending the conventional limits of contemporary art, challenging the dichotomy between the tangible and the intangible. Furthermore, I seek to build bridges between cultures and traditions, incorporating elements with their influences and meanings through art.
